It is with regret that I announce that the following North Yorkshire Village Shop and Post Office is for sale. Without boring you with the change in circumstances, I have enjoyed running this country shop and Post Office in West Marton, Near Skipton, North Yorkshire for several (close to 10) years now but it is time to move on and so it is for sale.

The Shop forms a part of a c1690 listed building (House) situated in the quite rural village in North Yorkshire. It benefits from a main road and passing trade thereon.

The House consists of 2/3 bedrooms (one en suite), large living room with impressive inglenook fireplace, kitchen, utility room, toilet, separate bathroom, large private gardens.

The Business is for Sale not the property. A new three year lease is available.

The business comprises of a part time Post office, small Village Shop/ Store come Newsagent. The Post Office itself is confirmed safe from threats of closure.

The Post Office is officially open 3 mornings per week and the Post office wage from these hours covers the rent of the shop and house.

Apart from the Post Office wages (which cover the rent) approximately £100 per week profit is made on newspaper sales. The newspaper trade could be increased substantially by a person with endeavour to do so ( There is a business park a couple of miles away employing in the region of 800 people). Allure Leather Lingerie UK Announcement

A short announcement for our customers and possibly other retailers based in the UK who sell Allure Lingerie. Our regular customers are aware that we do not hold a lot of leather lingerie in stock because of the cost involved in holding every size of every leather item etc. Lingerie non-leather, is far cheaper. We normally order through a UK Agent/importer and deliveries to the customer are normally about two weeks thereafter.

Due to this agent/importer experiencing some problems at the moment, we have had to let down some allure leather UK customers lately. This is disappointing to our customers and to ourselves as we strive to maintain a good standard of service.

Firstly, we must say that we hope this agent sorts out their problems as soon as possible and returns to providing us and, through us, our customers a great standard of service.

In the meantime we are now able to deal directly with Allure Lingerie.
You may place your leather lingerie orders as normal and delivery should be as it was or quicker.

Other retailers of Allure Lingerie should know of this arrangement.
We would be happy to order for them for the time being and will strive to match the prices offered by the UK Allure Agent if possible. Contact us if appropriate.

Dreamgirl Lingerie Customer Update

We have an important announcement for our regular lingerie shoppers, especially those who purchase Dreamgirl Lingerie (any item with a D prefix to the code) on our website. As you may be aware Dreamgirl Lingerie are based in America. They have one appointed importer / agent in this country. Although we do hold Dreamgirl stock ourselves, we have to deal with that agent for new stock and any orders which are received which have gone temporarily out of stock.

That UK Dreamgirl agent appears to be experiencing problems which may be connected with the present economic conditions. They have provided us with good service in the past and we really hope they sort their problems out, not least of all for the girls who work there and may have an uncertain future. Those girls have continued to be excellent in their customer service throughout.

This situation though, gives us and our customers some problems.
We are attempting a speedy resolution and have corresponded with Dreamgirl Lingerie directly with a view to this. Until the matter with Dreamgirl is resolved you are strongly advised to email us first to check availability. There are possibilities of sourcing new Dreamgirl lingerie stock from other sources but there may be delays so email us first.
